Nice wheels, dude.

If I'm blogging, you know it's either about Rick Springfield, politics or Texas sports. Today...Rick Springfield. Somehow I missed the news that he was arrested for a DUI in Malibu on May 3rd! I guess I'm just not trolling TMZ.com as much as I used to.

Anyway, while his mugshot is, well, a little sad-looking, and while news today suggests he had threatened to "fucking kill" the arresting officer and his family if they towed his car, the real takeaway is what he was driving. Rick was driving a 1963 Corvette Stingray valued at about $200,000. This is pretty much the greatest car EVER. If ever there was a car worth threatening bodily violence over, this is it. It is BADASS. His legend grows.

As for him being drunk, he blew at .10 which is basically nothing. For comparison, .10 of a dollar is just a dime! A measly dime! You can't do jack shit with a dime.

And while we're on the subject of Corvette Stingrays, here's the opening credits to the 1985-1987 series "Stingray." Featuring an oh-so-classic 80's theme by Mike Post, "Stingray" was actually a pretty entertaining show. I especially like the clip of him in the credits showing his kung-fu moves amongst laser lights. I would not be surprised if Rick Springfield auditioned for the role, got the part and then turned it down...because he's cool like that. And then, of course, there's the car...a 1965 Corvette Stingray. That car is so cool it makes Nick Mancuso look like a badass.
